Shipwreck supper

Jane Winfield and her husband Martyn raised a fantastic £735 at their Shipwreck themed My Supper for MS, held on the first anniversary of Jane's diagnosis.

When they realised they wouldn't be able to fit all 29 guests in their house, they decided to hold the party at their local sailing club, asking people to dress "as they were when the ship went down!"

Jane and Martyn decided to keep the food simple so that the event wouldn't prove too much to organise, offering a bread and cheese supper in return for a £5 donation. They also held a quiz and games on the night to raise extra money and had a massage therapist friend offering massages for £5. They found guests to be extremely supportive and generous and were surprised to find that some of the biggest donations came from people who were unable to attend.

Jane told us she wanted to give something back to the MS Trust, having found our publications a big help when she was diagnosed, in particular when trying to explain the condition to her sons. Jane also wanted to say a big thank you to her husband Martyn who took charge of the organisation as Jane's fatigue prevented her from doing too much.

We would like to say a huge thank you to Jane, Martyn and their guests for raising so much money. Could you beat their record? Click here for your free host pack.
