Brave Doris' fundraising challenge!!
25 July 2007 *New 2009 Update!*
Inspirational 82-year-old, Doris Ireland, took part in Jump in June 2007 and raised the magnificent total of £2,102.70 for the MS Trust.
Fearless grandmother of eight Doris Ireland signed up for her jump without hesitation, even though her friends and family claimed that she was 'as mad as a brush' for doing so! Doris lost her daughter Sandra after a 29-year battle with MS and was keen to do something positive to help others who have been affected by the disease.
The jump took place in Grange-over-Sands in Cumbria and Doris, who was 82 at the time of the jump, said: "it was breathtaking. All my crowd came and I enjoyed it every minute of it. I was not in the slightest bit nervous. We went up 14,000 feet when I got to the door there was a chap hanging onto the outside of the aeroplane taking photographs. He looked so funny I was just laughing. Then I was out and I was falling. We fell 2,000 feet without a parachute. I shall never, never forget it. It was out of this world."

Doris' fundraising for the MS Trust didn't stop here however and in 2008 she organised her own sponsored aerobatics event! Doris' friends and family looked on and marveled once more as she loop-the-looped her way through the skies to raise another £1,300 to support people with MS.
Courageous Doris is currently deciding on her 2009 fundraising challenge and we await eagerly to see what new adventure she has in store!
