Raising money online is one of the easiest and most efficient ways of fundraising
Virgin Money Giving
Virgin Money Giving is a fundraising website that helps charities raise more money online, without taking a penny in profit.
You can set up your own personalised fundraising page on the Virgin Money Giving website for an event or occasion and Virgin Money Giving will send the money you raise straight to the MS Trust. They also reclaim Gift Aid automatically, meaning that for every £10 donated on your page (with Gift Aid), the MS Trust will receive £12.15.
Online fundraising via Virgin Money Giving is an effective and simple way to collect funds and can save you time chasing people for cash sponsorship. Your donors can donate quickly and easily from all over the world using a credit or debit card. Simply email everyone you know with the link to your page and watch the donations come rolling in! Don't forget to promote what you're doing to your friends on social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter as well.
What about the Justgiving website?
The MS Trust's preferred fundraising site is Virgin Money Giving based on their lower charges (they charge 2% on donations compared to Justgiving's charges of 5% + VAT on donations and Gift Aid). This means that for every donation of £10 (with Gift Aid) made through Virgin Money Giving, the MS Trust receives 41p more than we would for the same donation made through Justgiving.
To ensure that the MS Trust receives more of the money you raise, we recommend that you use a Virgin Money Giving fundraising page. However, if you would prefer to set up a fundraising page on Justgiving, please do as we can still receive donations from them.
It is only with the help of our donors, supporters and volunteers that we can continue training MS specialists, funding vital research and providing trusted information to the 100,000 people living with MS across the UK.
