The Young Person's Guide To MS wins award
The MS Trust is delighted to announce that this book was Highly Commended at the British Medical Association (BMA) Patient Information Awards in September.
Kerry Mutch and Ali Whittam with the award
Written by Kerry Mutch, an MS specialist nurse in Liverpool, in conjunction with Ali Whittam from the MS Trust, it was produced with the help of young people who shared their experiences, worries and emotions about living with MS in their family.
Designed to answer some of the questions 11-16 year olds may have about MS, the book enables them to explore their feelings about how MS affects them, and helps them to realise that they are not alone in the emotions they may be experiencing.
The BMA Patient Information Award was established in 1997 to recognise quality in written patient information leaflets and small booklets and to encourage the production of accessible, well-designed and clinically balanced materials.

Browsealoud on the MS Trust website
To make the MS Trust website more accessible for people with poor sight, it now includes the speech enabling service Browsealoud. Browsealoud reads website content aloud whilst simultaneously highlighting the appropriate word.
The service is free of charge to users. Visitors need only download the application once and then all websites that are Browsealoud-friendly can be read aloud.
