MS Trust logo competition
Open Door - August 2008 page 15
In April, we launched our new logo and began a competition to challenge people to think of creative ways to display it.
Why a new logo?
The previous MS Trust logo and branding has been in place, barring a few minor alterations, since the charity was founded 15 years ago. As people with MS are often diagnosed in their twenties and thirties, we felt we needed a brighter, clearer image to raise awareness and attract people to use and support our services.
During November 2007 we worked with a market research company to find out what people thought of the MS Trust and the images that would best portray this. We were careful to keep costs to a minimum and the research also provided information on what people value about our services - information that will be useful for future developments.
'Where Would You Stick Yours?!'
The logo competition was launched in the last issue of Open Door and on our website. It produced a flurry of inventive images. We encouraged people to use any medium and entries included photographs (many intriguingly retouched), needlework, drawings and a mosaic.
The winning entry and runners up were decided by a public vote on our website. Congratulations to Steve Clelland for his striking image (right).
