Map of MS services
Do you know where your nearest MS nurse is based? How about your nearest mobility centre?
Following on from the success of the map of MS specialist centres that we published in the autumn of 2007, we have been working on another map showing a wider range of services. This unique, interactive map currently includes information and links to specialist nurses and therapists, MS Therapy Centres, hospitals with MS specialist services, and more.
If there are services near you that are not currently included or if you can help us keep the current information up to date, please email the MS Trust.
I am... pages
If you are someone who uses our website to browse for interesting things rather than looking for specific information, you should have a look at our more lifestyle oriented section the 'I am...' pages.
The I am pages gather a range of articles focussing on information for men with MS, women with MS, partners of people with MS and for people recently diagnosed, with extra pages planned for the future. The choice of articles is updated regularly, so come back and see what is available this month.
- I am a woman with MS
- I am a man with MS
- I am the partner of someone with MS
- I am newly diagnosed with MS
Progressive MS chatroom
The next chatroom, which takes place on 25 September, will offer people affected by primary or secondary progressive MS the chance to share their experiences and to ask questions of health professionals. If you can't get to the chatroom, you can send your questions or comments in advance.
- More information on the chatroom
- email your question in advance
- Request and email reminder of upcoming chatrooms
Transcripts of chatrooms are made available after each event. Recent sessions have included young people, lifestyle and MS, employment, sexual issues, and the effect of MS on the family and relationships.
The Young Person's Guide to MS presented at RIMS
The MS Trust's book for young people who have a parent with multiple sclerosis was included as a research poster and presentation at the 13th annual conference of RIMS (Rehabilitation in Multiple Sclerosis) in May.
The RIMS conference is the major European focus for new research in rehabilitation in MS and is attended by some of the world's most active researchers in MS. The poster and presentation looked at the process we went through to develop the book and how we sought the views of young people and worked with them on the text and the design.
MS Explained
In September the MS Trust will publish the new edition of our popular book for anyone who wants to understand the mechanisms of MS and what is causing symptoms to happen. The book has been revised in the light of recent advances and includes a new section on future avenues of research.
