Two days ago I went to the hospital for my antenatal check. I blogged before about that the midwife thinking I had put on too much weight and wanted me to see a consultant (but I suspect it was due to the fact that they didn’t have time to fit me in for another appointment). So I made my way to the hospital only to find out it was over an hour’s waiting time. Sat and read some thing about saving for your child future and watched a two year old girl scare the living daylight out of a boy by trying to say hello to him, his dad called him a wuss. (more…)

Antenatal Courses

Haven’t had time to blog for a while, been very busy both at work and sorting things out at home. On Tuesday we went to two antenatal courses, first an NCT one and then the NHS one. I ended up signing us up for both, as I figured the more the better. But I wasn’t really expecting them to happen on the same day. Once I have done both whole courses I should compare them properly, but so far they are quite different. (more…)

Monday again, today just run past. Had lots to do, and it felt the whole working day was less than 2 hours. I wonder if it will be at this speed for good now? Tomorrow we are starting our antenatal classes, I am looking forward to them, but don’t really know what to expect. I’ll report back and let you know! (more…)
Taxes, Ikea and new starts

Spent an hour or so reading up about statutory maternity pay and tax. I really think I am non the wiser with what I will be getting by the end of each month. I need to figure this out as I am seeing the insurance guy tomorrow and I need to be able to decide if I want to apply for the cover we discussed when I was there last. So..yes..having lots of fun on my Sunday. Earlier today we went and ordered 300 tiles for the kitchen. (more…)

Spring seems to be coming, and that is of course lovely, but also slightly annoying, as my big warm winter jacket is getting a bit too warm. All my other jackets are too small now, so I had to bite the bullet and go and find myself a new jacket. Buying jackets when you are 8 months pregnant isn’t great. I haven’t really seen anywhere that sells jackets for pregnant women. Maybe there is a market out there…It is annoying have to buy things several sizes bigger than normal, that you only really well be able to wear for a few more weeks. OK I guess I won’t be back to my normal size hey presto after birth, so I guess the jacket will last me a few months after birth. (more…)
