Got a really nasty pain in the scar area yesterday and called the midwife who told me to take my painkillers, I was given a cocktail of painkillers to take home from the hospital after the c-section, one of them being Codeine. I had heard of it before but not really knowing how strong it is or what side effects it can have. (more…)

Tycho is here!

Just a quick post to say that at 12.15 pm on the 22nd Little Tycho Finally came out! Tycho came 7 days early but was delivered with an emergency c-section due to brow presentation. After hoping for a natural birth they pumped me full with every drug in he book. The epidural didn’t take so in the end they put me under, so I wasn’t really there during birth, all rather weird. I thought I’d let you know that my waters just broke. Contractions are about 5-5 mins apart so we are waiting for a taxi to take us to the hospital.

Been a good girl today, finally sat down and wrote my birth-plan. Well it is not so much a plan as just wishes I guess. I got one from the NHS choices website, it ends up being a 7 page documents, but really it just got very little info in it. I just said I don’t want to plan too much, but take it as it comes, and if I need drugs later on, then fine. I also said I’d prefer not to be strapped in to the bed, but like to move around as much as I can, and may not want to give birth laying down. I just want to see what I feel like at the time I guess. Names, pains and fatigue

Been waiting in a telephone queue for nearly 30 mins to get through to the Swedish Embassy, very boring and once you get through they are so effective you forget all other questions you might have! I think I got what I needed though. After nearly one year of being married, I finally called them to have my name changed. Hopefully they’ll send papers quickly. (more…)
