Fathers-to-be role during the birth

26th October 2009 by Hellie

Last week BBC morning news had some doctor on their program saying that some fathers probably did more harm than good coming along for the birth of their babies. The mothers become more stressed and the chance for a C-section increases. Just hearing him say that made me feel slightly panicky. Let me share with you the worst moment for me during the whole birth. (more…)

6 months

23rd October 2009 by Hellie

On the 22nd Tycho turned 6 months! I can’t believe how fast times moves. We are both doing ok, well better than ok, I love being a mother and he is such a little bundle of fun. Sure it is hard work when he wont sleep at night or when he cries a lot due to the pain of teething. But it is all worth it! (more…)

Flu Jab

22nd October 2009 by Hellie

So I went for my flu jab last Saturday. I was impressed by the speedyness of it all, there were lots of people there still I was out and in there in less than 5 minutes. I don’t know if it was because of the speed of it or that it was a doctor and not a nurse, but I got a giant bruise from the shot, both around the injection site and all around it almost like someone punched me hard on the arm. Flu jab

16th October 2009 by Hellie

going to have my flu jab tomorrow. The bog standard flu not swine flu. Last time I saw a gp (we went to get some eye-drops for Tycho 2 weeks ago) he didn’t seem to have a clue as to when the swine flu jabs are being rolled out. In Sweden the people belonging to the high risk groups have started getting theirs now. I only hear October here, but so far no information from the surgery. I guess I can ask tomorrow. Going to the doctors on a Saturday…wooo the joy!

Bananas, Potatoes and Swedes

we have been giving Tycho solid food for a week and a half now. This week he is having 2 meals. It is all going rather well, he doesn’t like sitting in the highchair much so mostly I have him on my lap. So far his favorites seems to be sweet potatoes and pear mixed with baby rice. Tomorrow I am intending on trying out banana. I am myself allergic to banana, but I really hope he will not have inherited that as it is a handy fruit to have on the go. (more…)
