Baby, MS and Me Home

A year ago I found out I was pregnant, it was the 25th of August and we had just come home from a long weekend in Dublin and after buying some tests at Sainsbury we found out we were to become parents. It all felt rather strange and surreal. We had a very busy year 2008, we had gone to the US, Sweden, Ireland, Finland and the Dominican Republic, both been very busy at work and gotten married. And all that in the first 8 months of the year.  We thought we would get some traveling out of the way before we would try for a family in July, I expected it to take awhile to get pregnant so got a bit of a shock when we stood there on the 25th with the positive pregnancy test in hand as it was just a month later.

All in all my pregancy was wonderful, as I have said before at times I forgot I had MS. Hardly any symptoms at all during the whole 9 months. Now over 4 months later and I am still doing ok. I get tingly feelings in my leg at times, and when it is hot it feels a bit weak. From what I have been told the 3 months staight after birth are the biggest risk for relapses, so I guess I am now out of those months. Hopefully the tingly leg wont get worse.

I am missing the gym a lot, the last two weeks I have been making sure I go out for a long walk every day either with the buggy or for extra exercise I stick Tycho in the baby carrier. I am rather tired of still feeling huge so as soon as Tycho is on solids I will try to start a diet too, hopefully this will do the trick together with the walks. Once I go back to work I will try to fit in some gym time too. As I do think exercise is the way forward to beat fatigue and keep healthy. That is my plan anyway let’s see if I can stick too it!

xoxo
