Baby, MS and Me Home

Birthplans, hospitals and packing that bag.

Been a good girl today, finally sat down and wrote my birth-plan. Well it is not so much a plan as just wishes I guess. I got one from the NHS choices website, it ends up being a 7 page documents, but really it just got very little info in it. I just said I don’t want to plan too much, but take it as it comes, and if I need drugs later on, then fine. I also said I’d prefer not to be strapped in to the bed, but like to move around as much as I can, and may not want to give birth laying down. I just want to see what I feel like at the time I guess.

Yesterday we went up to the hospital for a tour of the maternity unit, so I got to see a delivery room, I didn’t think it was too scary, sometimes hospitals scare me as they are so sterile and filled with strange equipment. But these rooms seemed fine. Small and quite hot, but OK. I wish I could have the midwife who did the tour during birth as she was lovely.  Had a very soothing Scottish accent.

Now I just need to make sure I have my hospital bag fully packed. Still missing some bits, nothing to important, but like books and maybe some snacks and music. But I better save something for tomorrow to do. Tomorrow Ikea is also meant to show up with the cot.

Right it is time for bed soon I think!

xoxo

Hellie
