Got a really nasty pain in the scar area yesterday and called the midwife who told me to take my painkillers, I was given a cocktail of painkillers to take home from the hospital after the c-section, one of them being Codeine. I had heard of it before but not really knowing how strong it is or what side effects it can have. But I can now say that many of them are true I have had hallucinations, seeing Tycho in the bed with me when he was actually in his moses basket, Steve turning into Tycho. My senses felt delayed i was wanting to move my hand and it moved much slower. In the hospital i thought people were speaking Swedish. Yesterday i went for a nap and couldn’t sleep due to shakiness and heart palpitations, it was then I went to read the side effects, and felt much better as i knew now it was due to medication rather than anything else. So i told the midwife today that i don’t want to take them again, and she said it sounded like a wise choice.
Went for a walk to the shop around the corner today, it was rather painful i have to say, they have told me it may take up to 6 months before i feel like before, so i guess i just got to be patient, and realise that even celebs have c-sections all the time it it is still mayor surgery, and in my case I lost a lot of blood and they had to work very hard to get him out, so i guess it is no wonder I am still in pain off and on. I just need to put those long walks on hold for a while.
I still don’t get to sleep much more than 3-4 hours a day, so don’t have much time for blogging. But I will get around to blog about the whole birth too as there is some things to say about the MS element to it. But now I really need to go eat my dinner! Tycho is sleeping (kind of ) on the sofa next to me.
xoxo
