Been waiting in a telephone queue for nearly 30 mins to get through to the Swedish Embassy, very boring and once you get through they are so effective you forget all other questions you might have! I think I got what I needed though. After nearly one year of being married, I finally called them to have my name changed. Hopefully they’ll send papers quickly. My next call was to the UK deed poll service to find out how I go about doing it over here. Then I guess banks and other places are next. I am going for a double barreled surname but it seems in Sweden it will be registered as a new middle name, never-mind. I just want to be able to keep it on.
Last night was no fun at all, I was so much in pain. I had a mental image about a butcher hammering a piece of meat with a meat-hammer. I felt sore all over. It doesn’t feel like I have slept at all. Will try to have a nap on the sofa this afternoon after I have eaten some lunch. This morning when I got up I felt quite out of it, I even asked Steve to stay home with me for a bit just to see that I would be “ok”. I didn’t feel any contractions but huge backpain and something that felt like periodpains, which is how I read some people experience the start of laubour. But after I got up and soaked in the bath for a bit, I felt no pain and just fatigue, so he has gone into work now. I feel sorry for him to have his sleep so disturbed, I try not to wake him up, but with my many tossing and turning episodes plus having to get up and go downstairs to the loo, he keeps on waking up. he is very busy at work at the moment and could really do with proper sleep! I guess we both do!
Tomorrow we are hoping on getting a tour of the maternity units at the hospital, i figured with less than two weeks left it would be good to see where everything is at. The birth still feels very far away and alien to me though, it’s like I can’t believe it will actually happen, but I guess I will have to once it starts! Speaking of which, the first baby from our NCT group was born yesterday morning, a little girl. The mum went in when her water broke on Monday evening so it really was a long birth, brrrrr, haven’t heard any details yet.
Right better hustle up some lunch and have that nap!
xoxo
