Had a lovely day yesterday, we manged to pop Tycho in the pram and stayed outside from 2.30 to 7.oo. I braved feeding him at a Costa Coffee. I have always been quite shy so it did feel a bit funny at first, but it all went rather nicely. No-one payed much notice to me, so I didn’t feel too awkward at all. As I am still told not to push him around myself I am trying to make the most of the time while Steve is around.
Been twice to the nurse to have dressing put on my scar, last time she said it was healing nicely, however bits of the dressing have come undone now and it does feel a bit funny around the scar, a slight burn. Seeing her again on Tuesday, so hopefully it is still healing and not getting infected.
Sleep is getting better, I am trying to nap during the day when Tycho sleep. It is not always easy as I need to try to get myself some food during the time I don’t feed him. So it is all a bit of a puzzle, but I am getting there. The night feeds strangely are not that hard, the one that normally kills me is the 7 am one, I struggle to get up out of bed and I struggle to not fall asleep during the feeding. Apart from that my fatigue is not that bad. When he goes into cluster feed mode I do suffer, as I can’t really put him down for more than a few minutes to go get a drink or go to the toilet, before he starts screaming.
The formula feeding is helping his weight gain I guess, but it also gives him trapped wind and makes him a bit constipated which makes him very
sad. As I am typing this Steve is sitting with Mr Windy Bottom trying to soothe him.
We are hoping to sneak down to our local pub today for some lunch outside, so I better get on with one last feed before we stick him in the buggy.
