Braxton Hicks Rocks

When I first read about Braxton Hicks i thought they would feel quite diffrent from what they do. This whole feeling of a stomach that is rock hard is rather weird. I am starting to feel like my torso is carved from wood, bending over is becoming harder and harder. I have to pratice my monkey foot skills and try and pick things up with my toes instead when I drop things…maybe not when I got shoes on.

Kitchen stuff is going ok, tiling and flooring was done this week, so now we only got painting left to do and then unpack things get some new chairs. This is what it looks like at the moment, you can still see the walls are that strange mintgreen that makes me think of going to the dentist.

Fed up

I am getting quite fed up with being this big.  I can see why people start their maternity leave earlier, trying to sit down and be comfortable at work, or really in any chair, is getting tricky. Yesterday there was so much movement and activity, I almost thought something was about to happen as there was a pushing feeling at the top of the belly too and it was starting to hurt a bit. As I am typing this there is a lot of stretching going on too, kicking has mostly stopped, I guess it is getting crowded in there. All this discomfort makes it rather hard to relax or sleep, so my fatigue is back tenfold. But I guess I only got a week and a half left to work, then I can hopefully try to relax a bit.  Hopefully by then the kitchen is done too, it got tiled today and is getting floored tomorrow.

Now it is time to watch battlestar galactica!

Monday again, today just run past. Had lots to do, and it felt the whole working day was less than 2 hours. I wonder if it will be at this speed for good now? Tomorrow we are starting our antenatal classes, I am looking forward to them, but don’t really know what to expect. I’ll report back and let you know! (more…)

Annoying

I think I have already said we got the wrong pram/buggy/travel system ( I never know what to call these things) delivered the other week. Well last weekend we went to John Lewis to have a look at the one we were sent to see if we should keep it. But we decided against it as it was bigger than the one we wanted. (more…)

Shopping and more shopping

Oh this weekend has gone past very quickly!  Got a lift home on friday by my manager as I had a mothercare delivery to carry. I was very grateful as I was almost sleepwalking by this point. Yesterday we spent in some shops looking at wall paint, tiles and flooring. We think we have found the tiles we like, the colour (yellow) but none the wiser about flooring. Also spent some time in a supermarket browsing the kids clothes. In the evening we were invited over to a friends house for dinner, she found out we were without kitchen and came to our rescue, so spent the evening in nice company with nice food. (more…)
