Bright Sparks

Just come back from a great weekend in London. It’s funny but when you no longer work or live there I really enjoy London. But I do feel like a tourist walking around.  The tube is still a pain, haven’t had a single person offering up their seat for me and I hate the pushing.  Got a bit of that as we walked through Soho for a bit. But once we went up to Kentish Town, I was ok. The hotel we stayed in was nice and I had a lovely time having dinner with Steve and a friend before the gig. She got me a Moomin book, which I was chuffed about. I used to love the moomins as a child, still think the artwork and stories are great. (more…)

Beat the Clock

The MS Trust has a countdown on their MS Awareness week page for when the next MS awareness week starts. Today it says 39 days until it starts.  That means it is 41 days to my due date. Yes ironically the baby is due during MS awareness week. So for some more numbers: Today it is exactly 4 weeks before I go on maternity leave, well actually I start off with one week holiday, and officially the maternity starts on the 14th of April. Gloomy Monday and Change

Today it is according to the psychologists “Blue Monday”, the most depressing day of the year. And this year it is even more depressing with so many places having to shut their businesses, the credit crunch and of course the absolutely miserable weather. Hrmmm not such a great start to the week maybe, personally I don’t know if it is any gloomier than any other Monday. Most people I know share Garfield’s view on Mondays.
