Last year as part of MS Awareness Week we launched the My Super Nurse campaign to highlight the amazing work of our MS Specialist Nurses. We invited people affected by MS across the country to nominate a nurse who had made a real difference in their community.
The response was overwhelming. We received testimonies from across the country, paying tribute to nurses who had provided invaluable information, support and advice. The nurse with the most nominations was Judith Brassington, the MS Specialist Nurse in South Cumbria. “Judith has been a lifeline for me,” said one of the people who nominated her. “Nothing is any trouble… The world needs more Judith Brassingtons!”
This year we want to celebrate the work of even more Super Nurses and we’d like to hear more of your stories. Has your nurse gone that extra mile? Have they made a real difference to your experience of MS? We’d particularly like to hear from people who might be willing to be interviewed – on the phone, by email or even on video! – to help us spread the word about the work of MS Specialist Nurses.
If you’d like to be featured and tell the world about your Super Nurse, drop us a line at supernurse@mstrust.org.uk. Your involvement could make your nurse’s day, spread the word about their work and help us secure the future of MS Specialist Nurses across the country.
NB: The Super Nurse pages on the MS Awareness Week site are now live! If you want to nominate your nurse click here.

My nurse Jean Wakeling is brilliant! Any question I ask her, whether it’s about my MS or asking advise she has the right answer for me! She really has made a difference to me!
The Nurse i would like to recommend is Liam Rice From Sheffield. He is sooo supportive and positve and so kind. One in a million. Thank you
I nominate Karen Vernon brilliant at her job, understanding, knowledgeable & caring the only downside is she has gone to pastures new !!
My MS nurse is wonderful. His name is Robert Musk and he works in the West Suffolk area. He is totally reliable and is always there to answer questions. He monitors my medication every month and has a really positive attitude every time I see him. He always goes that bit extra and really cares for his clients. He is the most importanr person in our lives when it comes to anything related to MS.
I’d like to nominate my partners nurse, Joan Bradley from Hillingdon Hospital. She’s amazing, she goes above and beyond for us. Whether its to do with MS or anything else she can help with she will. She’s even come in on her days off for us. Nothing is too much for her and she’s always got a smile on her face, she will always do her very best. We would be lost without her, she’s more like a friend than a nurse. We owe her so much.
my special nurse is Daisy Cam in Sheffield. However down I get things are much much better when I have seen Daisy.I know I can call her anytime and she will arrange a visit. Every MS patient should have a Daisy to turn to!!!!!
My MS Nurse is Ann Donaldson from Cameron Hospital in Fife. She has kept me well informed, sorted out my medication, I can call her with a problem and she always knows the answers she has helped me a lot over the years, she always makes time for her patients even though she ha a large area to cover. she will go that extra mile I look upon her as a friend and would be lost without her support
I am a volunteer with our local MS Branch in Fife. Our MS Nurses are a huge support to all people with MS locally and often help the Branch out with advice and information as well. The MS Nurse service is under huge pressure, but they try so hard to meet everyone’s needs, under the most difficult circumstances. Thank you,
Debbie McCallion and Anne Donaldson, you are really much appreciated. xx
