Leicester collection days - can you help?

Published on

Do you live in or around Leicester? Could you spare a couple of hours to take part in a street collection on 13 or 14 October?

The MS Trust has recently supported the recruitment of two new MS nurses (and funded 80% of one full time post) at Leicester General Hospital. We're going to be holding a street collection in Leicester on Friday 13 and Saturday 14 October to raise funds to help train and develop the new Leicester nurses, and others like them, and ensure people with MS get the support they need.

We're looking for help in the following areas in the centre of Leicester:

  • Tower Hall Square
  • Clock Tower
  • Humberstone Gate West
  • Dolphin Square
  • Gallowtree Gate

Time slots available:

  • 09:00 to 11:00
  • 11:00 to 13:00
  • 13:00 to 15:00
  • 15:00 to 17:00

Would you be able to spare a couple of hours to help us collect? Or do you know anyone else who may be willing to help? We will provide everything you need to make the day a great success. Here are some handy tips (pdf 1.1MB) on how to prepare for the day and make the most of your collection.

Allison Smith, one of the existing MS nurses in Leicester said,

“We have big plans to help people with MS throughout Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland by having more community clinics. There are about 1,600 people with MS in our area and I am sure they will be happy to hear that they will have more access to support.”

The money you collect will make a big difference for people with MS in Leicester and across the UK. If you would like to get involved, or if you'd like to organise a collection in your local area, please contact Kelly on 01462 476707 or fundraising@mstrust.org.uk.
