Disability Discrimination Act

The Disability Discrimination Act 1995 renders it unlawful to discriminate against disabled persons in employment and other areas. The legislation has wide-ranging implications, and this talk will focus on the provisions of the disability discrimination legislation and in particular:

• The definition of a "disabled" person;
• The legal definitions of "discrimination";
• The circumstances where discrimination is prohibited by law;
• The duty to make "reasonable adjustments";
• Legal remedies
