Neurological Competencies
A new framework of competences for health professionals working with people with neurological conditions has been devised.
The framework includes 23 competences which all health professionals should meet when working with people with long-term neurological conditions. It is unlikely that any one person will be required to have all 23 competences, but the framework offers a set of standards to be used in:
- individual development / appraisal
- team development
- role design
- role re-design
- service design eg new build/service
- education programme / curriculum design
The new framework will help health professionals working with people with long-term neurological conditions identify their level of practice and provide guidance for improving practice.
