User's guide to the MS Commissioning Pathway

At the present time the commissioning layer of the MS Pathway has been developed. Other layers will be added in the future.

Viewing the MS Commissioning Pathway

  • The Pathway is best viewed in Internet Explorer. A version more compatible with Firefox is being developed
  • If using Internet Explorer 7, you can use a zoom function to zoom in on any area; this function is not available in earlier versions of Explorer.

Supplementary information

  • To see supplementary information about a topic, hover the cursor over the relevant part of the Pathway.
  • The information can also be read via that Show/Hide Menu button Show/Hide Menu button in the top left corner.
  • Select the relevant layer (currently there is only information in the GlobalText layer) and click the Supp Info button Supp Info button
  • The information can be printed using the print button Print button
  • The Show/Hide Menu works correctly in Internet Explorer. A version more compatible with Firefox is being developed.

18 weeks

  • The clock symbols indicate where in the process the 18 weeks between the referral and the delivery of care start clock with tick and end clock with cross

Layers of the MS Pathway

The Pathway will have a number of layers of information, each with supplementary information.

  • GlobalText (the commissioning layer) - this is the only layer in place in the current version
  • Commissioning - commissioning and contracting guidance, practical examples to support commissioning, commissioning levers, and Quality of Life tools
  • Workforce - including the Skills for Health work on the functions required to deliver pathways, plus practical examples supporting workforce
  • IT - details of technology enablers
  • Processes - service improvement and models of care
  • Metrics
  • Financial
