A pilot study to investigate the effect of Pilates classes on balance in people with MS
Wessex MS Therapy Centre, Warminster, Wiltshire/Royal Free & University College Medical School, London
There is some anecdotal evidence that Pilates improves balance in MS and there is a sound theoretical rationale for why this may be so. It is defined as a "mind body conditioning exercise programme that targets the deep postural muscles of the abdomen and spine, to improve overall central core stability and posture".
This project has been completed and a report of the study submitted for publication.
