Who is the course designed for?
The Development of Multiple Sclerosis Care and Management for Specialists module is a week-long residential course for new in post MS specialist nurses, therapists and other health professionals who specialise in supporting people with MS.
The course is aimed at those who are working at Band 6 and above. We recommend that you have been in post between three-six months before coming on the course.
The module provides a strong foundation of MS knowledge upon which additional specialist knowledge can develop and covers a host of clinical and professional issues relevant to HCPs undertaking a specialist role.
The MS Trust has entered into a collaborative partnership with The Faculty of Health, Education and Life Sciences at Birmingham City University to deliver this module and you can earn 20 credits at Level 6 or Level 7.
The MS Trust has committed to offer a fixed number of fully funded places to those working in a MS Specialist Nurse role.
Nurses working in other roles (ie. MS support nurse, MS infusion nurse) should contact the MS Trust for advice about funding your learning: there are bursaries available for therapists and other health care professionals who specialise in supporting people with MS.
