2015 has been another busy year for the MS Trust.  Here are a few highlights

MS Decisions launched

MS Decisions, which went live in October, is an independent guide to the disease modifying drugs for relapsing MS.  The number of drugs is growing and so is the evidence for starting treatment as soon as possible. MS Decisions is designed to help you weigh up your options and make the choice that works for you.

Information about secondary progressive MS

Our book on secondary progressive multiple sclerosis was highly commended in the BMA Patient Information Awards in September.  The book looks at how this type of MS is identified and diagnosed and at how a range of health professionals can you help manage the condition

Evidence for MS specialist services published

We published a major report on MS specialist services in November. Including data from 15 MS teams who provide services for over 15,000 people living with MS, Evidence for MS specialist services provides an unprecedented insight into the state of MS services

Launch of the new look MS Trust website

Our new website was launched in September.  The site makes it easier to find your way to the right information, in the right form, at the right time - whether you’re on your phone, using a desktop computer or browsing on your tablet.

NICE quality standard for MS

NICE is developing the new quality standard for MS which identifies priority areas for improving NHS MS services.  We have been actively involved in influencing its development at every stage, with detailed responses based on the views of people living with MS and of health professionals.

Supporting health professionals

Our largest ever conference for MS health professionals took place in November and capped a year that had included two week-long courses for recently appointed specialist nurses and therapists and four study days looking at aspects of multidisciplinary support for people with MS

Almost 2,700 people donated and more than 1,200 people raised money this year to help fund our work for everyone affected by MS. Whether you baked cakes, ran a marathon, donated to our appeal or bought a Christmas card, your contributions are vital and make such a difference.
