Sponsored swim for MS Awareness Week

Inspired by a client with MS, fitness instructor and comedian Alice B took part in a sponsored swim during MS Awareness Week and raised almost £200 for the MS Trust.

I signed up to swim 8 miles for the MS Trust on 27 May 2015 during MS Awareness Week. I am training to do the Aspire Channel Swim in September so am doing a lot of lengths at the moment, so I felt I could also be doing them for charity.

I swim every day to combat a severe anxiety disorder, so I thought all the lengths I do could be put to good use to help others too. It keeps me focused as well, on those cold wet mornings. I chose the MS Trust as I know a wonderful person who has MS.

By night I am a comedian and cabaret artist, Vi The Cleaner, and by day I teach able and disabled and elderly people exercise, fitness and dance. One of the most inspiring people I know who comes to my classes every week suffers from MS. She is the most cheerful person I think I have ever met, she really puts life into perspective. So I just want to do my bit to help people with MS.
