A to Z of MS Visualisation
Visualisation belongs to a branch of therapies known as complementary and alternative medicines (CAM).
In simple terms, to engage in visualisation is to conjure up mental images - preferably positive images - of desired outcomes. Visualisation is based upon the premise that the mind is the body's most powerful tool and that certain intense visualisation techniques persuade the body to translate these images into reality.
Though no studies have specifically assessed the effectiveness of visualisation for people with MS, although there is anecdotal support for its use.
