Young Daniel Glendinning helps to raise £763!

Daniel Glendinning

As the summer months came to a close last year one young supporter, Daniel Glendinning, aged 9, was about to embark on a fundraising event to show his support for his aunty who has MS.

It was back in September that Liz Thompson opened her garden to take part in the My Garden for MS fundraising campaign for the MS Trust. With the help of her family they baked, iced and made many, many cups of tea and coffee for guests. Their incredible cupcakes (pictured below) are some of the most creative that we have ever seen and sound delicious too with flavours such as rich chocolate honeycomb and zesty lemon meringue.

Friends, family, neighbours and even strangers came along to the event after lots of leaflets were handed out in the local town. Over 100 people came through the door and parted with their hard earned cash for this good cause. By the end of the day everyone was delighted to see a total of £763.32 was raised from the day.

Special credit needs to go to Daniel (pictured right) who single handedly raised £345. He raised this by selling 170 cupcakes and taking additional donations. Here at the MS Trust we believe Daniel is a real fundraiser in the making!

Daniel said about the event "I have had a fantastic experience raising money for the MS Trust. I loved selling the cakes that my Aunty Liz made for the event as the cakes were so fantastic looking. It was nice talking to people and hearing what they had to say about the cakes. At the end of the event, I was ASTONISHED at the amount we raised, absolutely mind blowing. The gang and I all totally enjoyed it."

Daniel himself remains the star of the day after really putting everything he could into the event and showing such support to his Aunty Liz.
