Charity golf event at RAF St Athan Golf Club
Pay but no play was the order of the day, for the rescheduled charity golf event in aid of the Multiple Sclerosis Trust at RAF St Athan Golf Club on 30 September 2008.
Organised by Club member Adrian Hawkins, on behalf of the M. O. D. Military Guard Service, heavy rain allowed only three holes to be completed!
Competitors agreed to replay the golf next May but dipped deep in their pockets on the day for an auction and raffle. This, in addition to green fees and generous sponsorship, enabled a donation of £1,016 to be made to the MS Trust.
Adrian and the MS Trust would like to thank the Golf Club, it's members and friends who made donations as well as the following businesses for their sponsorship:
Carillion Enterprize, Vale Garage Services, Blue Anchor Restaurant Aberthaw, Raj Kinara Indian Restaurant Fontygary, Hurrans Garden Centre Cowbridge, Antony Brown Estate Agent, Mel's kitchen RAF St Athan GC, lafage Cement Aberthaw and Iestyn Taylor Golf Professional.
MS Nurse Gail Clayton (centre) receives a donation on behalf of the MS Trust, from CSO5 Ade Hawkins and CSO4 Jean White
