Andrew Previté and his passion for sailing inspired this project. It has however, taken on a momentum of its own and involved many other people with MS.

In March 2004 we sent out a questionnaire in an issue of Open Door, the MS Trust quarterly newsletter for people with MS, their friends and families. This asked for information on people’s ability and desire to undertake sporting activities. We were astonished by the response and received 1,905 completed questionnaires all of which have been analysed and the information included in this project.

From the research it was evident that people with MS recognise the value of exercise and sport, but in some cases are thwarted by a lack of local facilities or support.

In this section we have included some of the comments we received, which provide a personal insight into exercise as seen through the eyes of people with MS.

We hope you will find these quotes, aligned to other sections of these webpages helpful in inspiring you to undertake whatever activities you desire.
