My Story
Read and share stories about MS
Would you like to share your story?
This is a place for you to share YOUR story of MS, every story is different and they show all the aspects of life with MS, good, bad and everything in between.
Some people are newly diagnosed, others have been living with MS for a long time and these are their personal reflections.
We welcome stories from anyone affected by MS - people with MS, partners, parents, children, health professionals or carers.
Thank you to all those people who have shared their story.
Unfortunately the MS Trust is unable to answer your questions through My Story, if you do have questions about your MS, please contact our information team either via email infoteam@mstrust.org.uk or freephone 0800 032 38 39
Send us your story
If you would like to share your experiences of MS, please write us your story in approximately 600 words. We welcome stories from anyone affected by MS - people with MS, partners, parents, children, health professionals or carers.
Unfortunately we cannot accept stories that are about other people, unless the story can be supplied with evidence that you have the permission to write about the said person.
We ask you to start your story with a short paragraph about who you are and your connection to MS, but the rest is up to you! Below are some ideas to help you get started, but remember it is your story, so don’t feel there are any right or wrong subjects.
- Your diagnosis and your thoughts/events around it
- Changes you have made, for example to your lifestyle, work, or other
- What does MS mean for you?
- Any issues or problems you have faced
- Caring for someone with MS
- Treatment choices
- Your contact with the MS Trust, including how it came about
If we need to make editorial changes to your story, we will contact you before we publish it to make sure you are perfectly happy with what's being said.
We also ask that you include a photo of the person telling the story, preferably a head and shoulders shot. Please feel free to include any other photos that are relevant to the story as well. If you would like to remain anonymous and not submit a photo of yourself, we will post a photo/avatar that suits your story.
