Managing stress may reduce MS disease activity. In a year long study of 121 people with MS, half followed a stress management programme. 77% of the people on the programme had no new lesions as measured by MRI at the end of the study compared to 55% of the control group. Once the programme in the trial was over, the effects were quickly lost.
