Questions about MS?
Call our free helpline on 0800 032 38 39 for practical information you can trust. Or email ask@mstrust.org.uk. We're here weekdays from 10am to 4pm, except bank holidays.
Many people find it helpful to talk to others with first hand knowledge of MS. Chatting with people who know the problems and choices you face can be reassuring.
You may prefer to meet people in person or be more comfortable talking to people online. There are many in-person social groups, as well as online blogs, forums and discussion groups. Here we've collected some of the places where you can share experiences and ask questions.
It is important to remember that everyone is different. Someone else's experience may not apply in your particular situation. Many things you read will just be personal opinion, although the way they are expressed may suggest that they are fact. It is important to research widely to get a balanced overview and to find information that is based on good evidence.
The MS Trust has two online support Facebook groups. To join either of the MS Trust groups, you will need to answer some simple questions to help us ensure that spammers and scammers are kept out. You will also be encouraged to read and abide by the group rules. Our aim is to support a safe and tolerant online community.
The MS Trust groups are monitored by members of MS Trust staff. Our Information Team will post answers to questions and signpost group members to relevant information. We are very grateful to our Volunteer Moderators and Information Support Volunteers who keep an eye on the groups out of office hours.
MS Trust Facebook Group - This is an open group for anyone affected by MS. Being an open group, this means that non-members can see the conversations and learn more about MS and the MS Trust. You can post comments, reflections and questions on all aspects of life with MS. If you would like to make a post without disclosing your MS to your wider circle, you can post anonymously or message the page for help.
MS Trust Advanced MS Care and Support Group - This private Facebook group is for people with Advanced MS and the people who care for them. Living with Advanced MS produces unique strains on family life. It can be easier to talk about them to a community who are facing similar experiences.
